How precepting withPreceptorate works
From your application to your first payment: seven steps, and our team carries everything but the precepting itself.
- 1
Apply
Tell us your specialty, the state you practice in and how you would like to precept. It takes about a minute.
- Name, email and phone
- Your specialty and state
- In person, virtually or both
- 2
Hear from your recruitment manager
Your recruitment manager reaches out by text or email, answers your questions and sends your link.
- Answers to your questions
- Your link to create your account
- 3
Create your account
The short form: your facility, your RN license number and state, and the preceptor agreement. We check your license with the state board before any student meets you.
- About a minute
- License checked by our team
- 4
Meet your student
We match you by specialty and where you practice, then set up a short call so you can both see it’s a good fit. You decide after the call.
- Matched by specialty and ZIP
- A short call first
- 5
Complete your full profile
After you meet, we send the rest of your profile for the school: your education, license dates, facility address and documents. We prepare the affiliation agreement and the school’s forms.
- Your resume and license documents
- Agreements prepared by our team
- 6
Precept and sign off
In your practice or online. Your student logs the hours; you review and sign them off. We schedule the evaluations and, for virtual precepting, run the mentorship sessions.
- You sign off the hours
- Evaluations scheduled by us
- 7
Get paid
Per block of precepting hours, at the rate you saw before you accepted. A block’s length follows your student’s program, and every payment comes with its receipt in your portal.
- Zelle or direct deposit
- Receipts in your portal
Two ways to precept
In person
Your student comes to your practice and learns alongside you.
Virtually
Your student completes their hours online, where their school allows it.
